Château Faubernet is produced by Dufis Frères and is located near the town of Cadillac in the elongated wine district of Premières Côtes de Bordeaux, situated on the right bank of the Garonne river. The estate has an annual production of a quarter of a million bottles, focusing primarily on red wine, which is aged in the château's modern and well-equipped cellars. This 1979 vintage, described as charming and mature, achieved a score of 88 points.
The wine holds the Appellation Bordeaux Supérieur Contrôlée classification. Bordeaux Supérieur is a regional AOC that covers the entire Bordeaux region and gained its status in 1943. It sits between the basic Bordeaux AOC and the more prestigious communal appellations, requiring stricter production rules such as lower yields, higher minimum alcohol levels, older vines, denser planting, and at least nine months of aging. The area covers approximately 12,400 hectares.

Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
