Dette er en rødvin fra 1997, fremstillet af det anerkendte vinhus Maison Louis Jadot. Vinen kommer fra marken Le Vaucrain i appellationen Côte de Nuits-Villages i Bourgogne, Frankrig. Årgang 1997 i dette område beskrives som charmerende, men hurtigt udviklet, og har opnået en score på 86 point. Maison Louis Jadot blev grundlagt i 1859 af Louis Henry Denis Jadot i Beaune og er i dag en af Bourgognes største private grundejere med 240 hektar og en portefølje på 154 forskellige cuvées.
Siden 1985 har huset været under amerikansk ejerskab af Kobrand Corporation, men stilen er forblevet en klassisk Côte d'Or-fortolkning med stærk vægt på bæredygtighed og terroir-trofasthed. I 1997 blev vinmagningen ledet af den ikoniske Jacques Lardière, som stod i spidsen for produktionen fra 1970 til 2012. Vinen er høstet, vinificeret, lagret og tappet på flaske af Louis Jadot selv under navnet Domaine Louis Jadot.
Côte de Nuits-Villages fik sin AOC-status i 1964 og fungerer som en samle-appellation for vine fra fem kommuner i den nordlige og sydlige ende af Côte de Nuits, herunder Fixin, Brochon, Comblanchien, Corgoloin og Premeaux-Prissey. Klimaet er kontinentalt med varme somre og kolde vintre, og vinstokkene vokser i en jordbund af kalk og ler. Vinen har et alkoholindhold på 13 % og er lavet på Pinot Noir, som er den absolut dominerende drue i området og udgør cirka 97 procent af produktionen. Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
