Château de Brens is a red wine produced in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, located on the right bank of Bordeaux, France. Positioned by the Atlantic Ocean, Bordeaux is the world's most famous wine region, renowned for exporting wine since the Middle Ages and producing elegant blend wines. The 2003 vintage from this area is characterized by a warm and ripe style, achieving a score of 92 points.
Saint-Émilion Grand Cru covers 5,400 hectares across eight communes surrounding the medieval town of Saint-Émilion, which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1999. While it shares its geographical boundaries with the standard Saint-Émilion appellation, the Grand Cru designation enforces stricter production rules. These include lower maximum yields of 40 hectoliters per hectare, higher minimum alcohol levels, and extended aging requirements of at least 20 months. The local terroir is a diverse patchwork of limestone plateaus, clay-limestone slopes, gravel, and sandy soils.
The estate cultivates 11 hectares of vineyards, planted with a composition of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot is a classic dark grape that dominates the right bank of Bordeaux and is also widely grown in California, Washington, and Northern Italy. It is supported by Cabernet Franc, a classic dark grape typical to the Loire Valley, Bordeaux, and California, and Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the world's most renowned dark grapes for structured wines, frequently cultivated in Bordeaux, California, Washington, and Tuscany.
As part of the production process, the wine is aged for six months in barrels prior to bottling.

Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
